Busy & Being Sick

Jo's Polar Bear Report
Jo did a report on Polar Bears along with a poster board coloring.  Jo has a realistic touch to her art don't you think?
I asked the teacher if we were going to get a call home about the fact that Jo made her bear bloody from eating a seal.  Way Funny!

Sickness!
Jo had a loose tooth that we thought was causing a fever so we pulled that tooth on Tuesday morning.  Low and behold this was not the issue at all as she came down with a virus that has knocked her down long and hard.  This is where she spent Tuesday after valentines day.
By Wednesday afternoon her temp shot up over 104.  Two trips to the Urgent Care and two trips to her Dr's office, strep / UTI / chest x-ray and now blood tests to try and figure out what is going on with Sister.

Globe Trotters!
Cole on the other hand has been a busy Little Man!  Cole's "brother from another mother" Keenan and his dad Bob watched the Globe Trotters at Matt Court.
Oh boy did they have a good time!  Bob bought the kids Globe Trotter wrist sweat bands so each boy could have one.  Cole finally took his off after I said that is should probably air dry after his shower.  (yes, he took a shower with it)

Babe Ruth Baseball Tryouts.
Can't believe it's already that time of year but here we go.  Two days of tryouts and many more boys this year as quite a few are switching from Little League to Babe Ruth.
Last year Cole played "AAA" which was about two years older than he should have played but because of a low numbers of boys they combined to make one team.  This year Cole is back to his age group and will play in the "Rookie" league.  They have enough players to create a Major and Minor teams.  Cole got the phone call last night that he made the Majors and is pumped as this would be the better players in his age group!

And a very nice compliment from Cole's last year Coach Chris.  Chris talked to the head of North Eugene coach and told him that Cole along with another boy from last year should be placed in the Majors as they are very good ball players.  Thanks Chris.

What is Jo doing?
Yup...it's the end of the weekend and Sis is still sick!
Even broke out into a rash at one point, allergic to meds she had been put on.  Kind of sad really as she has started perking up / talking more and a better appetite we thought she must have finally broken her fever.  Nope, 100 to 102 the girl can function darn happy now.  Makes us sad to think she feels probably normal at this temperature.

White Dragons!
Cole and his "Brother from another Mother" Keenan after the game.
Our team only had four boys show up for this past game so boy howdy were they tired after but they all had a good time.

WHO?!
Oma and Jo were off to another Dr appointment also stopping to go through a car wash.   Oma couldn't figure out why the car wash attendant kept looking toward the back seat.  She turned around to find Jo sporting this look!
Surprised Oma didn't get pulled over to make sure the kid in the back seat wasn't stolen or something.  Jo is so dang funny!

Snowboarding #2
Oma, Cole and Jo were to head up to the Pass for snowboarding and ski lessons. With Jo still being ill we sent Cole with Brandon for the day as Oma stayed home with Jo.
Brandon & Cole
Brandon told us that Cole is fearless on the mountain, even boarding down a black diamond on the backside.
Brandon is awesome with Cole and even had him get on and off the lift alone.

Going down the Black Diamond run on the backside of the mountain.  (Black Diamond are for experts, or Fearless 8 year olds)
Reminder here, this is only the second time Cole has hit the mountain on a snowboard and not even in the same year.

Sixteen runs they got in this day...can we all say ...
Well, we think this says it all.

Cole informed us that he would like to make this his winter activity.  Guess we will have to start saving for next year now.  Or with all the prompting we hear on the videos from Brandon, maybe this will all come out of Brandon's pockets from now on!  HA

Thanks Brandon, you made Little Man GLOW!

Basketball, Nerfs & Friends

White Dragons!
Oma and I are coach and assistant this season for Cole's basketball team.  We have a small group of boys that are just a lot of fun and have come a long way in a very short time.
Cole's trading card an an action shot of him making moves on an opponent.

NERFS EVERYWHERE!
What do you do with so many Nerf guns and weapons in general?!
A little planning and pegboard can create a boys dream is what you can do!

ARSENAL
Cole has let family see his closet but none of his friends as he wants to keep his arsenal a secret as long as possible for those sneak attacks.
(What Cole is completely clueless about is that as we have put his room back together we are creating a place for everything.  His closet looks awesome but now each and every Nerf and Lightsaber has a home and should make it easier for him to "pick up" when it's time to do so.  Check with us later to see how this is working.)

Superbowl.
The kids made shirts again and the neighbor kids got into it as well.  Only one GB fan in this croud.  (smart kid)
Derian even showed up wearing her creation!  I sure love these each year.

Women Duck Basketball
Tracy asked if anyone wanted to join her for a game as she and Martha have season tickets and very good seats.  So Tracy had a date with Cole this night and the two of them had a GREAT time!
Tracy, Cole, Jenjen & Julie
(I'm sure Jenjen here is teaching him something he shouldn't do that we will be calling her about at a later time.  Ha Ha)

He was spoiled as he got to go to the club house down on the floor level, sharing in the special Duck soda cups, seeing a display of the old PIT and coming home with a new sweatshirt.

I asked him to go to the next game with me and his first question was "Do you have season tickets or do I have to sit in the nose bleed seats like you did?"

Roseburg Gals!
They came up to watch a game and spend time together (nose bleed seats but still great ones).
I sure love these women!
top: Maureen & Annie.  bottom: Laura, Cathy, Sandy Laura, sorry can't remember, Joyce & Arleta.

Tie Die this and that?
Just making meals fun as I tie died our Dutch Baby for breakfast!
Such a Cool Mom!

Marie & Norman On The Road!

Just in case you want to catch up with Gma Marie and Gpa Norman!
Check out their blog too!
http://mar8nor.blogspot.com/

Having a GREAT time and keeping BUSY.

What's Been Going On?

BFF's
Keenan and Karly are over quite often so we are more like a family of six.  Life is very good, louder, busier and more fun.
Watching a movie before bedtime.
(Have to admit, love that they all get along so well but the cuddling was too much for me so movie was turned off and they were sent to separate rooms for the rest of the night finishing the movie in the morning without cuddling!)

Sunshine & Skins!
The weather is starting to warm up every now and then and this day we hit close to 70.
Cole, Keenan & Ian
All our neighbors were out working in their yards and a few commented that they enjoyed listening to the boys playing hoops.  It was Skin vs Skin vs Skin.

If you can skate you can play!
If you can't skate they will teach you and you can play!
Jenjen and Julie's hockey team were a hoot to watch play.
Their team lost by one (really) but skated well and both of these athletes came off the ice all sweaty with smiles on their faces. Jill said she would play if most of their games and practices weren't so late on Sunday nights.

Hockey Fans!
Yup, this was the whole crowd.  (it's a small town)

Jo's in Love.
With Rock Climbing.  Truly she just loves this.
After watching hockey Jo asked if she could start to skate again.  I told her sure, we can swap out rock climbing for ice skating.  Jo came back with "No, I think I will swap piano with ice skating."  I of course supported her and said "Um, good try but you will be playing piano until your 18".  (This parent thing can be fun don'tcha think?)

Derian's Basketball
She is in middle school now so she plays on the school team unlike playing the city recreation teams.
She has gotten so very good at her dribbling, shooting and guarding!  I was very impressed with how her skills have improved just from a year ago.
Derian!  Your a SOLID player!  Keep it up Girl!
